Wilderness Skills & Trips.

Making use of our natural areas, Sea-Gull offers a complete initiatives program. Low ropes course, rock climbing and a challenge wall are used to help girls develop strength, confidence and team spirit. Wilderness skills such as map and compass, shelter building, back-country first aid and minimal impact camping are taught to ensure that campers are well-prepared for off-site trips.

Our location near beautiful lakes, trails and rivers enables us to expose our girls to the excitement of wilderness travel. All campers participate in supervised, age-appropriate trips.

These may include: day hikes along beautiful trails near Lake Michigan, day trips to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes or Mackinac Island, overnight camp-outs at some of Michigan's most beautiful campgrounds, sailing trips on Lake Charleviox, sports road trips, or four-days of hiking or canoeing in the Canadian wilderness.

CITs can choose one of our extended trips such as canoeing in Lake Superior Provincial Park, or sea-kayaking at Beaver Island. Sea-Gull provides backpacks, tents, dry bags, and all cooking equipment.
